Wardija and Dingli go top as Ji­val lose again

Ji­val lost an­other game against the strong team of Wardija while Dingli De­sana reg­is­tered a good win beat­ing Tal-Qroqq. Zab­bar gained their first win beat­ing Val­letta Mas­ters.

Wardij ahad a com­fort­able win against Ji­val 8-2 and went top of the stand­ings with two other teams on max­i­mum points. The Brazil­ian Ed­uardo do Nashimento (Il-Bizu) opened the score for Wardija after only two min­utes and soon after they got the sec­ond by Michael Borg Olivier, who had an­other good game also scor­ing a hat-trick. Be­fore both teams went for the break, Abugella Wa­hashi got one for Ji­val. When the sec­ond half started it seemed that Ji­val were go­ing to fight it out when Jean Pierre Ab­dilla got the draw, but from then on, Wardija dom­i­nated and Ji­val were not in the game any more.

Zab­bar reg­is­tered their first win from four games when they beat Val­letta 10-6.

It was an in­ter­est­ing game with Zab­bar tak­ing their chances, be­ing ef­fi­cient in their counter at­tacks. Gil­bert Scerri was at his best and scored four, whilst Val­letta lost too many chances.

They lost a good chance to gain an equaliser be­fore half time when the Zab­bar goal­keeper saved the penalty taken by Kurt Az­zopardi.

Dingli De­sana had an easy win beat­ing Tal-Qroqq 18-2 to reg­is­ter the high­est score so far this sea­son.
