Three precious points for Udinese

Malta Independent - - SPORT -

Udinese new coach Luigi del Neri continued his bright start in his new adventure, as he helped Udinese claim their fourth win of the league with a 3-1 away win against Palermo at the Renzo Barbera Stadium.

This win meant that this was the second win in the three games, and also the second consecutive win since del Neri took over after beating Pescara last week. On the other side, Palermo continued to disappoint as they are still in the relegation zone after 10 games, with the third consecutive win.

It was Palermo who opened the score on the 10th minute thanks to a goal by the striker from Macedonia Ilija Nestorovski.

Udinese’s reaction came with the equalising goal on the 34th minute through their main goal scorer Cyril Thearau.

Del Neri’s team took the lead on the 74th minute. It was a good run of about 40 metres by French man Seko Fofana who had the time and space to fire a shot from outside the box in the left corner of Posavec.

Palermo’s reaction wasn’t successful and this resulted in Udinese killing the game five minutes later.

Udinese cleared a free-kick from the left and started a counter-attack from their own half. Seko Fofana received the final pass, and placed past Posavec.
