Malta faces Cyprus to­day

Malta is con­sid­ered favourite to beat Cyprus this af­ter­noon when the two teams meet in a Euro­pean Cham­pi­onship South Con­fer­ence 1 clash at the Hiber­ni­ans Sta­dium.

Last week­end, Malta reg­is­tered a record 63-15 win against An­dorra and the play­ers will cer­tainly be look­ing for­ward to an­other win to con­sol­i­date their po­si­tion in the Group, the win­ners of which will even­tu­ally meet those of the other Group (North) for Coach Damian Neill is adamant that the play­ers, how­ever, will have to keep their feet to the ground. He said: “Against Cyprus we should be the stronger team, but we have to be on the alert. We will need all the sup­port we can get from the fans to be able to ob­tain an­other vic­tory.”

The match to­day kicks off at 2pm. The Hibs Sta­dium Gates will open at 12.30pm.

The Marsa and Qawra Scout groups will be en­ter­tain­ing the crowd.
