St Lucia re­main un­beaten

Kirkop United con­tin­ued their ex­cel­lent run with a hard fought 3-2 vic­tory over Dingli Swal­lows in the first match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium.

Matthew Cas­sar put Kirkop ahead af­ter 20 min­utes with Luke Galea mak­ing it 1-1 on 29 min­utes from the penalty spot. Fabian Fon­seca made it 2-1 for Kirkop on 45 min­utes with Cas­sar adding an­other on 68 min­utes. Luke Galea fur­ther re­duced the deficit for Dingli in added time.

St Lucia re­mained un­beaten with an ex­cel­lent 4-1 vic­tory over Md­ina Knights who have now lost 3 games in a row. The Saints goals came from two braces by Se­bas­tian Per­domo and Mar­lon Far­ru­gia.

Xgha­jra Tor­na­dos reg­is­tered their se­cond win of the sea­son when they beat Zur­rieq by three goals to one. Noel Tabone opened the sec­or­ing on 53 min­utes with Nathan Zam­mit equal­is­ing on 56. How­ever a brace by Royter De­gior­gio on 59 and 92 min­utes se­cured the points for the Tor­na­dos.

St Ven­era Light­nings rose to the top of the ta­ble with a fine 3-0 vic­tory over Msida St Joseph in the se­cond match at the Luxol Sta­dium. Dy­lan Mer­cieca opened the scor­ing on 34 min­utes with Dani­jel Va­sic adding an­other two to his im­pres­sive tally on 35 and 67 min­utes.

Kalkara con­tin­ued their un­beaten run with a thrash­ing of Ta’ Xbiex by six goals to nil in the se­cond match at the Sirens Sta­dium. The goals came from a hat trick by Timmy Thomas on 14, 85 and 89 min­utes, Ryan Sell on 33 min­utes, Jonathan Scerri on 61 min­utes and Benji Ayuba on 59 min­utes.

Luqa St An­drews also con­tin­ued their fine run with a 2-0 vic­tory over Mtarfa cour­tesy of a brace from their re­turn­ing striker Den­nis Syt­nik on 8 and 14 min­utes, the for­mer from the penalty spot.
