Ghedin names pro­vi­sional squad

Na­tional coach Pietro Ghedin named the pro­vi­sional squad ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qual­i­fier against Slove­nia in pro­gramme on Novem­ber 11 and the in­ter­na­tional friendly match against Ice­land sched­uled four days later. The squad in­cludes some new faces who were pro­moted from the Un­der-21 squad. Th­ese are de­fend­ers Samir Arab of Balzan, Daniel Zer­afa of Tarx­ien Rain­bows and Sam Ma­gri of Dover Ath­letic. Bar­net mid­fielder Luke Gam­bin makes his re­turn af­ter serv­ing a two-match ban but Rod­er­ick Briffa is still ruled out in­jured. Jonathan Caru­ana, who was sent off in the last game against Lithua­nia, is not part of the squad. The play­ers se­lected by Ghedin are:
