Mr Galdes said that €50,000 has been allocated to the fund, which will be divided up between various non-governmental organisations and sanctuaries so that they can all conclude the pending animal-related projects that are in the pipeline.

“This is all being done to safeguard the animals’ rights as well as providing strengthened treatment and rehabilitation facilities for those that need it.”

He concluded by saying that while last year eight out of 11 applications for funding were accepted, this year it appears that all 12 applications will be accepted.
