Justice Minister Owen Bonnici in favour of reviving the Commercial Courts
Justice Minister Owen Bonnici said yesterday that he wants to initiate a discussion regarding the revival of the Commercial Courts, after its competencies were absorbed by the First Hall of the Civil Court many years ago.
He was replying to a Parliamentary Question by PN MP Jason Azzopardi, as well as supplementary questions by PL MP Anthony Agius Decelis.
The minister said that this forms part of the Justice reforms, to help make court procedures quicker, and make it easier for contract disputes to be sorted.
Speaking about the reforms in general, he mentioned the Small Claims Tribunal, and other changes made over the past years, and said that it would be useless to have a growing econA omy if things take too long in court to sort out.
