Hamrun Spartans sack coach Steve D’Amato
Hamrun Spartans announced that they sacked coach Steve D’Amato and that for the time being, assistant coach Jonathan Holland will be in charge of the team.
D’Amato had joined the Spartans in summer 2014, just after they were relegated to Division 2 and in two years, the club won consecutive promotions to return to the Premier League. Hamrun ended their first round commitments in seventh place on 14 points with four wins, two draws and five defeats.
This was the second spell for D’Amato as coach of Hamrun after leading the team between 2008 and 2011.
In a statement, the club thanked Steve D’Amato for the services rendered to the club.
