ASMK En­duro cham­pi­onship starts to­mor­row at Ta’ Qali

The As­soc­jaz­zjoni Sport Mu­turi u Karozzi (ASMK) is open­ing an­other cham­pi­onship spon­sored by ASMK and Pasta Poiatti of the 2016/2017 sea­son to­mor­row.

The En­duro Sec­tion will be launch­ing the first event of the En­duro mo­tor­cy­cle rid­ers which is to be held at the ASMK Mo­tor Sports Com­plex at Ta’ Qali.

As pre­vi­ously an­nounced by the As­so­ci­a­tion, this 2016-2017 En­duro Cham­pi­onship will in­clude six races. Such com­pe­ti­tions nor­mally al­most all events take place out­side the As­so­ci­a­tion Sports Com­plex. This is made pos­si­ble with the full co­op­er­a­tion of own­ers of quar­ries and other lo­ca­tions.

To­day, the eve of the En­duro event the com­mit­tee, under the di­rec­tion of Ed­die Bonello, will be con­struct­ing the cham­pi­onship launch­ing race track. This is to in­clude nat­u­ral and man­made obstacles for the rid­ers in the race.

This tem­po­rary En­duro cir­cuit is be­ing con­structed at the ASMK premises at Ta‘ Qali. Regis­tra­tion for to­mor­row’s race starts at 9am while rac­ing starts at 10am. All reg­is­tered com­peti­tors will be di­vided into three classes - that of mo­tor­cy­cles under the 250cc and Over 250cc and an­other class for Tri­als mo­tor­cy­cles.

Mean­while the Tri­als’ first com­pe­ti­tion of Sun­day 30 Oc­to­ber was can­celled due to bad weather on the pre­vi­ous night. This com­pe­ti­tion is sched­uled to be held on Tues­day 13 De­cem­ber which is a public hol­i­day. The lo­ca­tion will be an­nounced later on.

Cur­rently the as­so­ci­a­tion is un­der­way with the first pro­ject on the Au­tocross track where spe­cial ma­chin­ery is used to re­move a sub­stan­tial part of the en­tire sur­face on the kilo­me­tre long Au­tocross track.

This work is be­ing made pos­si­ble thanks to the con­trac­tors Pol­i­dano Group, Philip Agius & Sons and Carmel Vella & Sons. The work is be­ing co­or­di­nated by the Pro­ject Man­ager of the As­so­ci­a­tion Lawrence Dar­manin. The work on the mo­tocross track is ex­pected to com­mence next week.
