Casa Apap Bologna em­ploy­ees get MCAST train­ing in dis­abil­ity stud­ies

All em­ploy­ees who will be work­ing with persons with dis­abil­ity at the newly opened Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Ser­vices are cur­rently fol­low­ing a course lead­ing to an MCAST level 3 award in dis­abil­ity stud­ies. The course is be­ing or­ga­nized jointly by the Care­malta Academy and MCAST.

The new aca­demic year at the Care­malta Academy was re­cently in­au­gu­rated in the pres­ence of stu­dents and lec­tur­ers as well as rep­re­sen­ta­tives from MCAST. More than 200 persons are ex­pected to at­tend cour­ses or­ga­nized by the Academy rang­ing from dis­abil­ity stud­ies to ad­vanced health­care as well to de­men­tia care.

Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Ser­vices lo­cated in Mosta will soon be of­fer­ing respite ser­vices to persons with dis­abil­ity rang­ing from a weekend to a longer pe­riod. Such a ser­vice will pro­vide in­for­mal car­ers, nor­mally par­ents, with an op­por­tu­nity for a much-needed break.

Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Ser­vices, run by HILA, a new or­ga­ni­za­tion within the Care­malta Group, pro­vides all persons with dis­abil­ity ben­e­fit­ting from the respite ser­vices, with an op­por­tu­nity to learn how to live in­de­pen­dently with the nec­es­sary sup­port whilst so­cial­iz­ing with oth­ers both within the home as well as within the com­mu­nity.
