Senglea back on track
Senglea Athletic 2 Pieta Hotspurs 1
Senglea’s battle towards promotion progressed yesterday when they returned to winning ways.
It was Senglea who opened the scoring on 25 minutes, when Austin Obaje Smith picked up a ball from a considerable distance, dribbled past three Pieta defenders and managed to find the corner of the net from an acute angle.
Shirtly before the break, Pieta managed to equalise thanks to Clive Gauci, who pounced on a Mensah effort that had been partially saved by goalkeeper Farrugia to drive home from the edge of the area.
Senglea eventually scored what was to be the winning goal when on a corner by Dalli, Austin Obaje Smith managed to control the ball, turn well and fire home from close range.
