Casa Apap Bologna employees get MCAST training in disability studies
All employees who will be working with persons with disability at the newly opened Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Services are currently following a course leading to an MCAST level 3 award in disability studies. The course is being organised jointly by the Caremalta Academy and MCAST.
The new academic year at the Caremalta Academy was recently inaugurated in the presence of students and lecturers as well as representatives from MCAST. More than 200 persons are expected to attend courses organised by the Academy ranging from disability studies to advanced healthcare as well as dementia care.
Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Services located in Mosta will soon be offering respite services to persons with disability ranging from a weekend to a longer period. Such a service will provide informal carers, normally parents, with an opportunity for a much-needed break. Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Services, run by HILA, a new organisation within the Caremalta Group, provides all persons with disability benefitting from the respite services, with an opportunity to learn how to live independently with the necessary support while socializing with others both within the home as well as within the community.
