A round of applause for such a great cause

Malta Independent - - LIFESTYLE & CULTURE -

Every year, on a fine November Sunday, the Maltese roads come to a halt. The morning picnic and family outings are replaced by a highly anticipated fun run organised by the Malta Community Chest Fund to help those in need. The 8th edition of the President’s Solidarity Fun Run took place last Sunday and was once again a hit. The longest route started from Rabat (Saqqajja Hill) for a total of 11.3 km, but shorter routes starting from Paola and University were also available. All routes met at Portes des Bombes in Floriana to make their way to the grand finale in St George’s Square in Valletta.

Participants were welcomed to the square with nourishment, medals and entertainment, bringing the successful event to an end on an energetic and vibrant note. Fruitland Company sponsored the event with boxes of GIOIA bananas on the day, making sure that all participants were given a healthy energy pack in a snack to quickly replenish themselves in time to join in on the post-run celebrations. Fruitland Company believes in joining together for a good cause, which is why it is always more than happy to play its part in similar events.
