EY Malta to host IFRS up­date sem­i­nar 2016

EY Malta will once again be hold­ing the an­nual Fi­nan­cial Re­port­ing Up­date event on 30 Novem­ber, at the Hil­ton Ho­tel. A range of pre­sen­ta­tions will be de­liv­ered by EY spe­cial­ists in the as­sur­ance ser­vice line, all aimed at keep­ing stake­hold­ers up to speed with re­cent de­vel­op­ments in IFRS, lo­cal ac­coun­tancy pro­fes­sion reg­u­la­tions and re­cent changes to the lo­cal Com­pa­nies Act.

EY Malta Ex­ec­u­tive Direc­tor in As­sur­ance Christo­pher Balzan said: “As key play­ers in the sec­tor, we con­sider this event a game changer, an op­por­tu­nity to keep our clients and stake­hold­ers abreast of up­com­ing changes in in­ter­na­tional fi­nan­cial re­port­ing stan­dards and in­ter­pre­ta­tions. The event will put a spot­light on key is­sues aris­ing from such stan­dards and their im­ple­men­ta­tion.

“We will also cover the re­quire­ments of the Gen­eral Ac­count­ing Prin­ci­ples for Small and Medi­um­sized En­ti­ties (GAPSME), which were launched on 1 Jan­uary 2016, and high­light re­cent changes made to the lo­cal Com­pa­nies Act as part of the trans­po­si­tion of the Sin­gle Ac­count­ing Di­rec­tive in Mal­tese Law.”

Reg­is­tra­tion starts at 8:30 am and the event will end at 12:30 pm. It is cur­rently be­ing re­viewed by the Ac­cred­i­ta­tion Board for CPE Ac­cred­i­ta­tion, and the ad­mis­sion fee is €50.
