Fgura United Marsa 1 2

Marsa managed to register a very important 2-1 victory against fellow strugglers Fgura. Marsa, who had been at the bottom of the table before the match, managed to lift themselves out of the last spot and move further up.

This was the fourth consecutive defeat for Fgura, but at least they managed to score a goal, having failed to score any in their previous three outings. In fact, Fgura so far have the worst forward line, having scored only four goals in seven matches.

It was a very balanced encounter, where Fgura were slightly better in the first 45 minutes, with Marsa being very much improved in the second half.

It was Fgura who opened the scoring after 13 minutes of play, when on a Dylan Agius cross, Joseph Chetcuti’s header was too much for goalkeeper Caruana.

Fgura were again dangerous on the half hour, when Joseph Chetcuti sprinted well into the Marsa area but there was Yessous Camilleri who intervened at the right moment.

On 66 minutes, Marsa were awarded a penalty when Kento Sakurai was fouled in the area by Jadean Waseem. From the spot, Lucy Omerou hit home.

With only a couple of minutes left to play, Lucky Omerou managed to dispossess an opponent outside the area, dribbled past two defenders to shoot past goalkeeper Matthew Camilleri.
