Star­lites’ come­back en­sures open­ing win

Af­ter the break, Depiro were still ham­mer­ing away as they made up a good 12-2 start with David Bugeja hoops. That gave them a max­i­mum seven­teen point ad­van­tage at 48-31. Bench play­ers came on court with Star­lites re­tal­i­at­ing with a 9-0 runand another Mitro­vic trey.

The play was then shared till the end of the ses­sion with Nikola Stankovic net­ting a Star­lites triple but with Depiro ahead on a 56-46 score.

In the last pe­riod, An­drew Aquilina in­creased depiro’s ad­van­tage but Star­lites were not done yet. They came up with a 12-2 run to open up the game once more. Depiro had Bugeja with more points but Star­lites had bet­ter op­tions as Mitro­vic sank two more treys tak­ing them to just a hoop in ar­rears and Nikola Stankovic nailed his sec­ond triple to put his side ahead af­ter trail­ing for so long.
