Foot­ball - Rooney not fin­ished yet, but apol­o­gises to South­gate

Rooney mean­while was re­ported as say­ing that the re­ac­tion to his latenight con­duct on Eng­land duty has been “dis­grace­ful” and has vowed he is “not fin­ished yet”. He claimed: “What’s been go­ing on is dis­grace­ful. I love play­ing for my coun­try and I am proud of my achieve­ments to date but I have not fin­ished yet.” Re­ports said the FA prob­a­bly did not tell the Eng­land cap­tain to apol­o­gise over “in­ap­pro­pri­ate” pic­tures of him at a wed­ding at the team ho­tel dur­ing the same in­ter­na­tional break. The Sun news­pa­per pub­lished im­ages it said showed Rooney drunk at a party late on Satur­day night - a day af­ter the 30 win over Scot­land on 11 Novem­ber. Rooney “un­re­servedly” apol­o­gised to in­terim Eng­land man­ager Gareth South­gate af­ter pic­tures emerged.
