Public lec­ture on EU For­eign Pol­icy in the Sa­hel Re­gion

The Univer­sity of Malta’s Depart­ment of In­ter­na­tional Re­la­tions, in con­junc­tion with the Min­istry of For­eign Af­fairs of the Repub­lic of Malta, will be host­ing a public lec­ture on “EU For­eign Pol­icy in the Sa­hel Re­gion”, by Am­bas­sador Angel Losada Fer­nan­dez, EU Spe­cial Rep­re­sen­ta­tive for the Sa­hel.

This event will take place to­day at 10am in Old Hu­man­i­ties Build­ing, Room 122 (OH122).

Mr Losada joined the Span­ish diplo­matic ser­vice in 1984 and served in a num­ber of posts in­clud­ing Am­bas­sador at Large for the Sa­hel and Spe­cial En­voy for Libya in 2014 and 2015, Am­bas­sador of Spain to the State of Kuwait and Bahrain from 2011 to 2014, and Am­bas­sador of Spain to the Fed­eral Repub­lic of Nige­ria and Per­ma­nent Rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Spain to the ECOWAS Com­mis­sion (Eco­nomic Com­mu­nity of West African States) from 2006 to 2011.

From 1993 to 1996 Mr Losada was the Deputy Di­rec­tor Gen­eral for United Na­tions Spe­cialised Or­gan­i­sa­tion and De­vel­op­ment in the Direc­torate Gen­eral for In­ter­na­tional Or­gan­i­sa­tions and Con­fer­ences in the Min­istry of For­eign Af­fairs.
