Qrendi and Ze­j­tun Corinthi­ans fea­tured in a highly spir­ited 2-2 draw at the Sirens Sta­dium in the match of the week­end.

Qrendi took a two goal lead through Dhonatan San­tos da Hora and Gio­vanni Galea early in the sec­ond half but Mauro Galea scored two goals to equalise apart from also miss­ing a penalty with Ze­j­tun end­ing the match on a high.

San Gwann failed to cap­i­talise on the draw be­tween Qrendi and Ze­j­tun as they also ended their match against Sig­giewi in a goal­less draw at the Luxol Sta­dium.

Zab­bar St Pa­trick were the only team to take ad­van­tage at the top when they man­aged to beat Mgarr United in the first match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium.

Clay­ton Camil­leri opened the scor­ing af­ter 10 min­utes while Sa­muel Buha­giar dou­bled on 67 min­utes.

Two min­utes later, James Borg re­duced the deficit for Mgarr but Zab­bar held out to claim the three points.

Mel­lieha con­tin­ued their pos­i­tive streak with a slen­der 1-0 vic­tory over Marsaxlokk in the sec­ond match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium.

Shami­son Far­ru­gia scored the win­ner on 70 min­utes.

In the first match at the Luxol Sta­dium, Swieqi United beat Ghaxaq by two goals to nil with Ken­neth Ezekie and Rod­er­ick Taliana pro­vid­ing the win­ning goals on 14 and 66 min­utes re­spec­tively.

Gudja United reg­is­tered their sec­ond win of the sea­son when they beat At­tard by two goals to one.

Asad Boom­gard scored twice for Gudja with At­tard tem­po­rar­ily equal­is­ing through a Fi­raz Aboulezz penalty.

In the Fri­day night match, Birzeb­bu­gia St Peters de­feated St Ge­orge’s by two goals to nil with Ken­neth Mer­cieca and Ron­nie Ce­leste scor­ing for the South seasiders.
