Kalkara at the top

Kalkara rose to the top spot of the Table when they ham­mered Marsaskala FC by four goals to nil in the first match at the Sirens Sta­dium.

Benji Ayuba, Timmy Thomas (2) and Ryan Sell scored for Kalkara.

St Lu­cia rose to third place with a fine 3-1 win over Ta’ Xbiex in the first match at the Luxol Sta­dium. Gaynor D’Amato put St Lu­cia ahead af­ter 45 min­utes with An­drew Mi­callef equal­is­ing af­ter 62 min­utes.

Se­bas­tian Per­domo put the Saints ahead again af­ter 73 min­utes with Gil­bert Camil­leri seal­ing the is­sue a minute from time.

Msida St Joseph lost fur­ther ground in the race for pro­mo­tion when they were de­feated by Zur­rieq through a soli­tary goal by Nathan Zam­mit af­ter just four min­utes.

St Ven­era also lost their un­beaten record when they went down 1-0 to Dingli Swal­lows with Luke Galea scor­ing the win­ning goal on 42 min­utes.

Luqa St An­drews moved to third place with a goal­less draw against Kirkop United while Md­ina Knights ham­mered Mtarfa 5-1 at the Luxol Sta­dium.

The goals came from Omar Smeirafter 2’ for Mtarfa, Matthew Fenech 38’, 88’ Ayr­ton Buha­giar 45’, Kurt Far­ru­gia 43’and Dy­lan Mintoff 45+1’ for Md­ina Knights.
