Malta contributes €45,000 to UNRWA
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has finalised the procedures for a contribution of €45,000 to support the most critical functions of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). This funding will cover the costs of 30,000 teachers, doctors, nurses and other staff that operate on the front-lines of such operations.
The government has along the years, fully supported the work undertaken by UNRWA with Palestinian refugees.
Covering over five million Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Gaza and the West Bank, the UNRWA provides much needed education, health, relief and social services.
