Unique exhibition at the Siggiewi Heritage Foundation
The Siggiewi Heritage Foundation is organizing an art exhibition at the medieval chapel dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady at the hamlet of HalXluq within the limits of Siggiewi.
Some of Malta’s main artists will be exhibiting art works dealing mainly with the theme Siggiewi and its environs. Part of the art sales proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for the restoration of chapels, monuments and works of arts forming part of the rich cultural heritage found within the parish of Siggiewi.
The Hal-Xluq chapel itself and its artistic contents were restored by funds raised by the predecessor of the Siggiiewi Heritage Foundation which then was known as the Kummissjoni Patrimonju Kulturali Siggiewi.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Rendell Micallef on Thursday 1 December 2016 at 7pm. The exhibition will then be open to the general public on Friday between 4.30pm and 7.30pm, Saturday between 9.30am and 12pm and 2.30pm and 7.30pm, Sunday between 9.30am and 12pm and between 2pm and 6pm.
The general public is invited to attend and support this initiative for a good cause. Also, for those interested in nature, the Hal-Xluq environs provide one of the picturesque countryside areas in Malta worth visiting.
