After 29 home wins in league, Olympiakos held 0-0 by Kerkyra
Defending champion Olympiakos has seen its streak of 29 home wins in the Greek league end after being held 0-0 Sunday by midtable Kerkyra. Olympiakos failed to score in a home league game for the first time since March 2014. The hosts created plenty of chances, but a sturdy defence held up well for Kerkyra. In the second half, the visitors occasionally ventured into Olympiakos’ area and, with better finishing, could have created a huge upset. Also Sunday, Panathinaikos’ last-gasp equaliser earned it a 1-1 draw at Panionios; Xanthi won 3-2 at Panetolikos; and Levadiakos came alive in the last 20 minutes to beat visiting Iraklis 3-0. Second-placed Giannena, 2-0 winners over Veria Saturday, moved within five points of leader Olympiakos.
