Malta Independent - - NEWS -

Two workers were injured yesterday at the abattoir in Paola.

No specifics were given by the police on the accident.

It is believed that the two were burnt when an excessive amount of fumes were released from machinery used in the slaughterhouse.

The police said a 68-year-old man from Żurrieq and a Greek 52-year-old, who resides in Pieta’, were seriously injured. The Maltese man is in intensive care.
