Another win for Santa Lu­cia

Santa Lu­cia con­tin­ued their un­beaten streak with a fine 4-1 win over Zur­rieq in the first match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium. Se­bas­tian Per­domo opened the scor­ing after 9 min­utes with Dy­lan Dar­manin mak­ing it 1-1 after 17 min­utes. How­ever Santa Lu­cia scored on 55 and 70 min­utes through Gil­bert Camil­leri with Gaynor Dam­ato seal­ing the is­sue 4 min­utes later. Kalkara kept top spot with a three point cush­ion when they beat Kirkop United with a goal scored after 18 min­utes through Timmy Thomas in the first match at the Luxol Sta­dium.

Xgha­jra Tor­na­dos reg­is­tered a sur­prise vic­tory over Luqa St An­drews in the sec­ond match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium. Lee Bal­dacchino put Luqa ahead on 34 min­utes but the usual Royter De­gior­gio made it 1-1 after 43 min­utes. Glenn Sal­iba scored the win­ner for Xgha­jra three min­utes from time. In a drab en­counter at the Luxol Sta­dium, Dingli Swal­lows and msida St Joseph shared the spoils in a goal­less draw.

Md­ina Knights con­tin­ued rising up the ta­ble with a 5-2 thrash­ing of rock bot­tom club Marsaskala who are still with­out a point. An­drea Spi­teri gave Md­ina the lead after 6 min­utes with Jur­gen Cachia equal­iz­ing on 32 min­utes. Md­ina raced ahead with gaols from Jonathan Mif­sud on 34 min­utes and Daniel Cre­mona on 50 min­utes with Marsaskala re­duc­ing the deficit on 62 min­utes through Lu­cas Sil­vasCanas from the penalty spot. How­ever Md­ina sealed the is­sue through Ray Forbes on 81 min­utes and another strike by Daniel Cre­mona in in­jury time. Mtarfa reg­is­tered their sec­ond win of the sea­son when they beat Ta’ Xbiex by the odd goal in five in the sec­ond match at the Sirens Sta­dium. Mtarfa went ahead on the through Warren Zer­afa on 31 and 43 min­utes but Ta Xbiex equalised through An­drew Xuereb on 62 min­utes and Sean Lan­zon on 78 min­utes. The win­ner came cour­tesy of FafanaVa­muya two min­utes from time.
