Another win for Santa Lucia
Santa Lucia continued their unbeaten streak with a fine 4-1 win over Zurrieq in the first match at the Charles Abela Stadium. Sebastian Perdomo opened the scoring after 9 minutes with Dylan Darmanin making it 1-1 after 17 minutes. However Santa Lucia scored on 55 and 70 minutes through Gilbert Camilleri with Gaynor Damato sealing the issue 4 minutes later. Kalkara kept top spot with a three point cushion when they beat Kirkop United with a goal scored after 18 minutes through Timmy Thomas in the first match at the Luxol Stadium.
Xghajra Tornados registered a surprise victory over Luqa St Andrews in the second match at the Charles Abela Stadium. Lee Baldacchino put Luqa ahead on 34 minutes but the usual Royter Degiorgio made it 1-1 after 43 minutes. Glenn Saliba scored the winner for Xghajra three minutes from time. In a drab encounter at the Luxol Stadium, Dingli Swallows and msida St Joseph shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
Mdina Knights continued rising up the table with a 5-2 thrashing of rock bottom club Marsaskala who are still without a point. Andrea Spiteri gave Mdina the lead after 6 minutes with Jurgen Cachia equalizing on 32 minutes. Mdina raced ahead with gaols from Jonathan Mifsud on 34 minutes and Daniel Cremona on 50 minutes with Marsaskala reducing the deficit on 62 minutes through Lucas SilvasCanas from the penalty spot. However Mdina sealed the issue through Ray Forbes on 81 minutes and another strike by Daniel Cremona in injury time. Mtarfa registered their second win of the season when they beat Ta’ Xbiex by the odd goal in five in the second match at the Sirens Stadium. Mtarfa went ahead on the through Warren Zerafa on 31 and 43 minutes but Ta Xbiex equalised through Andrew Xuereb on 62 minutes and Sean Lanzon on 78 minutes. The winner came courtesy of FafanaVamuya two minutes from time.
