Four drunk tourists from Malta attack Russian girl in the centre of Rome
Three British women and a Maltese man attacked a Russian girl outside a pub in Rome’s historic centre, causing her to be taken to hospital, Italian media have reported.
The attack was said to be unprovoked.
The age of the group from Malta varied between 23 and 54 years while the Russian girl is 27 years old.
The pub is situated in Via del Plebiscito in Rome’s historic quarter.
After people present in the pub tried to stop the aggression, without success, others called the police and a detachment from the nearby Piazza Venezia and another detachment rushed on to the scene and saved the girl.
The girl was taken to the nearby Santo Spirito hospital and was medicated for cuts and bruises.
The Maltese group was taken to a police station and had their details taken.
