Tot­ten­ham U23 coach Ugo Ehiogu taken to hospi­tal af­ter col­laps­ing

Tot­ten­ham's un­der-23s coach Ugo Ehiogu has been rushed to hospi­tal af­ter col­laps­ing yes­ter­day. The 44-year-old former As­ton Villa and Mid­dles­brough player was taken ill at the club's train­ing cen­tre.

Spurs re­vealed the news via Twit­ter:

The north Lon­don club added: “Every­one at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his fam­ily. We shall con­tinue to pro­vide up­dates when we have fur­ther in­for­ma­tion.”

The Homer­ton-born de­fender also played for West Brom, Leeds United, Rangers and Sh­effield United.

He was a mem­ber of the As­ton Villa team which lost in the fi­nal of the 2000 FA Cup at the old Wem­b­ley Sta­dium, and col­lected four Eng­land caps. Ehiogu joined Spurs in a coach­ing ca­pac­ity three years ago.
