Today MaltaPost will be issuing a miniature sheet bearing one stamp marking the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The stamp carries a face value of €3 and depicts the official mascot of the event. Russia’s official mascot for this event is a wolf named Zabivaka designed by a student, Ekaterina Bocharova. In Russian, Zabivaka means “the one who scores”, a suitable name for this wolf who radiates fun, charm and confidence. Apart from promoting the event, the mascot’s role is also intended to serve as an ambassador of Russia throughout the world.
