Nexia BT pass­port­selling li­cence sus­pended

Nexia BT’s li­cense to sell pass­ports as part of the In­di­vid­ual In­vestor Pro­gramme has been sus­pended, only two days af­ter the com­pany had its as­sets frozen by a court or­der.

The Malta In­di­vid­ual In­vestor Pro­gramme Agency an­nounced that it had sus­pended the li­cence of the firm with op­er­at­ing un­der the code IIP 003 – which was a com­pany called BT In­ter­na­tional and Nexia BT.

BT In­ter­na­tional is a firm owned by Nexia BT. Karl Cini was listed as the con­tact per­son in the agency’s list of pass­port agents.

The news comes af­ter Nexia BT and all the com­pa­nies as­so­ci­ated with it had their as­sets frozen by a court or­der, and af­ter two Nexia part­ners – Cini and Brian Tonna – were ar­rested by po­lice.

The agency said that Nexia’s li­cence was be­ing sus­pended “un­til fur­ther no­tice”.
