MCAST participates in SME Week
On Monday 26 October, MCAST, through its Entrepreneurship Centre, participated in SME Week. This year MCAST organized the closure event of this week’s activities at the MCAST Main Campus.
The closure event commenced with introductory speeches by distinct speakers including ministers and MCAST Top Management followed by a panel of speakers who discussed salient challenges faced by young Entrepreneurs and SMEs with the audience focusing on this year’s theme ‘ Digitising the Economy’.
MCAST also held an exhibition entitled ‘Technology through Time’ whereby different exhibits from various periods of the Technological Era were displayed in a timeline fashion.
Following the discussions students were accompanied to the MCAST Entrepreneurship Centre where they viewed the Centre and also discovered and experienced what young MCAST students are developing at the Centre.
The MCAST Entrepreneurship Centre aims to provide MCAST students and alumni with the opportunity to transform their creative and innovative ideas into profitable and sustainable business ventures.
The European SME Week is a pan-European campaign that aims to promote entrepreneurship in Europe. It helps existing entrepreneurs find information on available support and tries to encourage more people to set up their own businesses.
Coordinated by the European Commission, this campaign consists of events throughout the whole year. The main event of the European SME Week is organised every autumn together with the SME Assembly and the European Enterprise Promotion Awards Ceremony.
