Ap­pli­ca­tions for Stu­dents’ Main­te­nance Grants

The Min­istry for Ed­u­ca­tion and Em­ploy­ment an­nounces that it started ac­cept­ing on­line ap­pli­ca­tions for Stu­dents’ Main­te­nance Grants for aca­demic year 2017/2018.

As part of the min­istry’s ini­tia­tive to sim­plify ap­pli­ca­tion pro­cesses, all stu­dents, in­clud­ing those at Post-Sec­ondary Level, MCAST, Ter­tiary Level and those study­ing in pri­vate/for­eign in­sti­tu­tions, are to ap­ply through the same ap­pli­ca­tion.

Stu­dents ap­ply­ing for the Stu­dents’ Main­te­nance Grants, in­clud­ing those un­der the Malta Gov­ern­ment Un­der­grad­u­ate Scheme and those ap­ply­ing for the Sup­ple­men­tary Main­te­nance Grants, are to sub­mit their ap­pli­ca­tion by end Novem­ber. Stu­dents are to en­sure that all rel­e­vant doc­u­men­ta­tion is up­loaded to the on­line ap­pli­ca­tion.

Dur­ing the last aca­demic year, more than 19,000 stu­dents sub­mit­ted an on­line ap­pli­ca­tion for Stu­dents’ Main­te­nance Grants. The gov­ern­ment al­lo­cated a bud­get of €28 mil­lion to cover pay­ment of stipends and grants for the year 2017.
