Recog­ni­tion of prior learn­ing for MA in Adult Ed­u­ca­tion

The Univer­sity of Malta will be re-open­ing the MA pro­gramme in Adult Ed­u­ca­tion (4th co­hort) in Oc­to­ber 2019. This pro­gramme pro­vides an in-depth study of the field of adult ed­u­ca­tion in its the­o­ret­i­cal, em­pir­i­cal and prac­ti­cal as­pects. The re­quire­ments in­clude fol­low­ing a num­ber of taught study-units, writ­ing of a dis­ser­ta­tion and car­ry­ing out two place­ments.

Per­sons not in pos­ses­sion of a first de­gree but who are hold­ers of a Higher Di­ploma or univer­sity di­ploma in adult ed­u­ca­tion or adult train­ing and de­vel­op­ment and/or have a proven track record in the area can im­me­di­ately ap­ply to be con­sid­ered for ad­mis­sion to a bridg­ing year of multi-dis­ci­plinary stud­ies dur­ing aca­demic year 2018/9 un­der the Recog­ni­tion of Prior Learn­ing pro­vi­sion (please see:

They are asked to con­tact the RPL per­son­nel at Univer­sity: for ad­vice and sup­port. On suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of the RPL process, in­clud­ing ob­tain­ing the re­quired num­ber of cred­its dur­ing 2018/9, ap­pli­cants would be el­i­gi­ble to ap­ply for the MA course which will open in Oc­to­ber 2019.

This Mas­ter’s de­gree pro­gramme is be­ing of­fered by the Univer­sity of Malta’s Depart­ment of Arts, Open Com­mu­ni­ties and Adult Ed­u­ca­tion. Lec­tur­ers in­volved in­clude peo­ple with strong in­ter­na­tional rep­u­ta­tion in the field of adult ed­u­ca­tion and re­lated ar­eas.
