Italian woman, Irish man hit by cars in two separate incidents
A 23-year-old Italian woman was seriously injured in the early hours of yesterday morning, having been hit by a Peugeot 308 driven by a 20-year-old Dingli resident.
The accident occurred at 3.40 am on Gorġ Borġ Olivier Street in St Julian’s. The woman was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.
Also yesterday morning – at 9.30 am – an Irish man living in Sliema was involved in a collision with a car on Triq ix-Xatt in Sliema.
The 35-year-old man, a Sliema resident, was hit by a Volkswagen Golf, driven by a 67-year-old woman from Sliema.
The man was taken to hospital, suffering from grievous injuries.
Investigations and magisterial inquiries are ongoing.
