The Malta Independent on Sunday - - NEWS -

The PN administrative committee has reprimanded Jean Pierre Debono for his behaviour during the run-up to the leadership election.

Debono, who resigned from his Parliamentary seat to make way for the new PN Leader, was reprimanded for the way in which he handled proxy votes, but the PN committee has said that there is no need for any further investigation.

The committee endorsed the opinion of the Party’s electoral commission, which had drawn up a report on the allegations. It also accepted a declaration by Debono, who assumed responsibility – and apologised for – his behaviour and also agreed not to involve himself in any other Party elections held this year. He said that his sole intention had been to help out in the collection of voting documents.
