On Saturday, October 10, the Tour Mayakoba - Valladolid took place. 200 cyclists took part, and the route was 143 kilometers. The tour marked a commemorative point in history because it kickstarted a new sporting traditional that in future years will include more cities.

The tour’s starting point was the Mayakoba resort, a paradise of more than 270 hectares of rainforest and crystal clear freshwater streams surrounded by the Caribbean.

The tour started, at 7 a.m. and the finish was in front of the Municipal Palace of La Sultana del Oriente in Valladolid, Yucatan, which is today recognized as a Pueblo Mágico.

The proceeds will go to programs that work with at-risk youth, such as the Asociación Toma Control A.C., whose mission is to contribute to the integral formation of teenagers on the outskirts of Cancun.

The first organized ride through the Yucatan Peninsula took place on October 10, with the proceeds going for atrisk youth programs
