‘THE CHILDREN OF GENGHIS’ TO LAUNCH IN MONGOLIA
Mongol Film Group, Mongol Film Development Foundation and Mongol Film Group in Los Angeles made a film titled “The Children of Genghis”, which will be released in cinemas in Mongolia on October 10.
The filming of “The Children of Genghis”, directed by D.Zolbayar and produced by D.Angarag, took place in Tsenkher soum of Arkhangai Province for a year and a half. The film cost 1.2 billion MNT to make according to the producers.
Prior to the launching ceremony, “The Children of Genghis” concert will be performed at the Corporate Hotel and Convention Center on October 5 by the artists of the State Philharmonic and the State Morin Khuur Ensemble.
The film stars American actress Brittany Belt, Mongolian actors D.Dorjsambuu, D.Dorj, D.Sharavdorj, B.Batmend and R.Ankhnyam.
“The Children of Genghis” was authorized to be screened in the USA last July.
The film focuses on the horse racing tradition and child jockeys in Mongolia, and features three siblings who race horses.
When a notorious horse trainer, Bold, makes an announcement that he is looking for a jockey to ride his prized Brown Steed, herder Dambii’s eldest son Dorj is given the honor. This turn of events prompts Dorj’s younger brother Byambaa to run away from home after he became angry for not being chosen.
