‘THE CHIL­DREN OF GENGHIS’ TO LAUNCH IN MON­GO­LIA

Mon­gol Film Group, Mon­gol Film De­vel­op­ment Foun­da­tion and Mon­gol Film Group in Los An­ge­les made a film ti­tled “The Chil­dren of Genghis”, which will be re­leased in cin­e­mas in Mon­go­lia on Oc­to­ber 10.

The film­ing of “The Chil­dren of Genghis”, di­rected by D.Zol­ba­yar and pro­duced by D.An­garag, took place in Tsenkher soum of Arkhangai Prov­ince for a year and a half. The film cost 1.2 bil­lion MNT to make ac­cord­ing to the pro­duc­ers.

Prior to the launch­ing cer­e­mony, “The Chil­dren of Genghis” con­cert will be per­formed at the Cor­po­rate Ho­tel and Con­ven­tion Cen­ter on Oc­to­ber 5 by the artists of the State Phil­har­monic and the State Morin Khuur En­sem­ble.

The film stars Amer­i­can ac­tress Brit­tany Belt, Mon­go­lian ac­tors D.Dor­jsam­buu, D.Dorj, D.Shar­avdorj, B.Bat­mend and R.Ankhnyam.

“The Chil­dren of Genghis” was au­tho­rized to be screened in the USA last July.

The film fo­cuses on the horse rac­ing tra­di­tion and child jock­eys in Mon­go­lia, and fea­tures three sib­lings who race horses.

When a no­to­ri­ous horse trainer, Bold, makes an an­nounce­ment that he is look­ing for a jockey to ride his prized Brown Steed, herder Dam­bii’s el­dest son Dorj is given the honor. This turn of events prompts Dorj’s younger brother Byam­baa to run away from home af­ter he be­came an­gry for not be­ing cho­sen.
