Mon­go­lian bas­ket­ball team to com­pete in 3x3 World Univer­sity League Tour­na­ment

The Mon­go­lian 3x3 bas­ket­ball team will com­pete in the 3x3 World Univer­sity League Tour­na­ment, which will be or­ga­nized in Xi­a­men, China from Septem­ber 14 to 17.

The Mon­go­lian univer­sity team will be led by di­rec­tor of Mon-Altius Phys­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion In­sti­tute and coached by S.Tulga. The team in­cludes B.Bat­zol­boo, B.Naran­baatar, O.Enkhbaatar and Ts.Ot­gon­jar­gal. The team will leave for China on Septem­ber 13.

Some 16 men’s and 16 women’s univer­sity teams will com­pete in four groups of four teams. Mon­go­lia will play in Group D along with Canada, Thai­land and Malaysia.

The Mon­go­lian Stu­dent Sports Fed­er­a­tion met the bas­ket­ball play­ers on Septem­ber 8 and handed them the tour­na­ment in­vi­ta­tion and flight tick­ets.

The Mon­go­lian 3x3 bas­ket­ball won the right to com­pete in the 3x3 World Univer­sity League Tour­na­ment af­ter earn­ing gold medal from the Asian Univer­sity 3x3 Bas­ket­ball Cham­pi­onship, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last April.

Pre­vi­ously, the Mon­go­lian team won sil­ver medals at the World Univer­sity 3x3 Bas­ket­ball Cham­pi­onships 2016 and the Asian Univer­sity 3x3 Bas­ket­ball Cham­pi­onship 2015.
