FAREWELL CER­E­MONY FOR MON­GO­LIAN ASHGABAT 2017 TEAM TAKES PLACE

The farewell cer­e­mony for the Mon­go­lian team par­tic­i­pat­ing in the Ashgabat 2017 Asian In­door and Mar­tial Arts Games took place on Septem­ber 11 at the Mon­go­lian Na­tional Olympic Com­mit­tee.

The Mon­go­lian team, con­sist­ing of 64 ath­letes, will com­pete in 12 sports cat­e­gories at the Ashgabat 2017, which will be held from Septem­ber 17 to 27 in Ashgabat, Turk­menistan.

Pres­i­dent of the Mon­go­lian Na­tional Olympic Com­mit­tee D.Zagdsuren handed the state flag of Mon­go­lia to jiu-jitsu ath­lete, In­ter­na­tional Sports Master B.Ari­untsog, and wished them suc­cess.

The farewell cer­e­mony was at­tended by the of­fi­cials of the Mon­go­lian Na­tional Olympic Com­mit­tee, Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion, Cul­ture, Science and Sports, and the Phys­i­cal Cul­ture and Sports Author­ity.

Ath­letes from 63 coun­tries will com­pete in 21 sports cat­e­gories at the fifth in­ter­na­tional multi-sports event Ashgabat 2017.

To date, Mon­go­lian ath­letes have won a to­tal of 23 medals (two gold, seven sil­ver and 14 bronze) from the Asian In­door and Mar­tial Arts Games.
