Online database to be set up for constitutional amendment proposals
The task force in charge of constitutional amendments held a press briefing on September 12 to report about open discussions on constitutional amendments.
Member of the task force and MP G.Zandanshatar noted that seven groups led by parliamentary standing committees moderated 63 discussions in 21 provinces and in Ulaanbaatar’s nine districts for a month, and 4,705 government officials and 12,797 citizens participated in the discussions.
The task force received 129,258 proposals for constitutional amendments from provinces and 110,000 proposals from districts through post, e-mail and social media.
G.Zandanshatar stated that officials of the Parliamentary Secretariat’s Information Technology Department are typing-up all proposals received from the public for an online database. After all proposals are published on Parliament’s website, citizens will be able to access and review public feedback and proposals for constitutional amendments, the task force said.
