Mon­go­lia to co­op­er­ate with OSCE in com­bat­ing hu­man traf­fick­ing

Act­ing Deputy Min­is­ter of For­eign Af­fairs B.Battset­seg met with spe­cial rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the Or­ga­ni­za­tion for Se­cu­rity and Co­op­er­a­tion in Europe (OSCE) on Com­bat­ing Traf­fick­ing in Hu­man Be­ings and Am­bas­sador Mad­ina Jar­bussyn­ova on Fri­day in Ulaan­baatar.

Dur­ing the meet­ing, B.Battset­seg em­pha­sized that as pro­tect­ing hu­man rights is out­lined in key parts of Mon­go­lia’s for­eign pol­icy and its National Se­cu­rity Con­cept, the gov­ern­ment of Mon­go­lia is im­ple­ment­ing the National Pro­gram Against Hu­man Traf­fick­ing from 2017 to 2021.

She stated that Mon­go­lia wants to closely col­lab­o­rate with OSCE in im­prov­ing the com­pe­tency of law en­force­ment of­fi­cials and ed­u­cat­ing the public to raise aware­ness about the im­por­tance of com­bat­ing and pre­vent­ing hu­man traf­fick­ing.

Jar­bussyn­ova noted that she will help Mon­go­lia train its law en­force­ment of­fi­cials through OSCE’s work­shops and other pro­grams to pro­mote the coun­try’s ef­forts in com­bat­ing and pre­vent­ing hu­man traf­fick­ing.
