Winter driving restriction to begin from October 15
Ulaanbaatar will shift from summer driving restriction schedule to winter schedule, starting from October 15, in an effort to control traffic through the winter months.
Driving restrictions in the city will apply to all vehicles from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays with the exception of vehicles used for city landscaping, road maintenance, sewage and water services, vehicles with diplomatic license plates, and public transportation vehicles.
Compared to the summer driving restriction, the winter restriction covers a smaller area and the duration is shorter. The perimeter of the restriction is from the Thermal Power Plant No.4 intersection to Sapporo to the 4th khoroo bus terminal intersection to Tasganii Ovoo intersection to 32nd roundabout to Dari-Ekh intersection to the traffic circle outside of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology’s School of Business Administration and Humanities to Officer’s Palace to Chuluun Ovoo intersection to Dunjingarav Market intersection to 120 Myangat intersection and to the intersection outside of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology’s School of Mechanical and Technical Studies.
