Win­ter driv­ing re­stric­tion to be­gin from Oc­to­ber 15

Ulaan­baatar will shift from sum­mer driv­ing re­stric­tion sched­ule to win­ter sched­ule, start­ing from Oc­to­ber 15, in an ef­fort to con­trol traf­fic through the win­ter months.

Driv­ing re­stric­tions in the city will ap­ply to all ve­hi­cles from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on week­days with the ex­cep­tion of ve­hi­cles used for city land­scap­ing, road main­te­nance, sewage and wa­ter ser­vices, ve­hi­cles with diplo­matic li­cense plates, and public trans­porta­tion ve­hi­cles.

Com­pared to the sum­mer driv­ing re­stric­tion, the win­ter re­stric­tion cov­ers a smaller area and the du­ra­tion is shorter. The perime­ter of the re­stric­tion is from the Ther­mal Power Plant No.4 in­ter­sec­tion to Sap­poro to the 4th khoroo bus ter­mi­nal in­ter­sec­tion to Tas­ganii Ovoo in­ter­sec­tion to 32nd round­about to Dari-Ekh in­ter­sec­tion to the traf­fic cir­cle out­side of the Mon­go­lian Univer­sity of Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy’s School of Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion and Hu­man­i­ties to Of­fi­cer’s Palace to Chu­luun Ovoo in­ter­sec­tion to Dun­jin­garav Mar­ket in­ter­sec­tion to 120 Myan­gat in­ter­sec­tion and to the in­ter­sec­tion out­side of the Mon­go­lian Univer­sity of Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy’s School of Me­chan­i­cal and Tech­ni­cal Stud­ies.
