Mongolian delegation attends UN session on trade and investment
The fifth session of the Committee on Trade and Investment of the United Nations Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) took place in Bangkok, Thailand from October 31 to November 2.
The session’s delegates discussed the Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Report 2017; regional integration on the current regional economic state; trade facilitation and investment promotion; and issues regarding paperless trade, electronic commerce, and enterprise promotion under sustainable development efforts.
Mongolian delegates led by Head of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry V.Enkhbold participated in the session, and gave speeches about the country’s current trade and investment environment at discussions on promoting trade facilitation, paperless trade and electronic commerce for sustainable development.
During the session, V.Enkhbold talked with ESCAP officials about collaboration between Mongolia and ESCAP on improving the nation’s capacity in trade negotiations and developing operations of economic free trade zones and asked for ESCAP technical assistance in improving the country’s technology and innovation capacity.
