Mon­go­lian del­e­ga­tion at­tends UN ses­sion on trade and in­vest­ment

The fifth ses­sion of the Com­mit­tee on Trade and In­vest­ment of the United Na­tions Com­mis­sion for Asia and Pa­cific (ESCAP) took place in Bangkok, Thai­land from Oc­to­ber 31 to Novem­ber 2.

The ses­sion’s del­e­gates dis­cussed the Asia-Pa­cific Trade and In­vest­ment Re­port 2017; re­gional in­te­gra­tion on the current re­gional eco­nomic state; trade fa­cil­i­ta­tion and in­vest­ment pro­mo­tion; and is­sues re­gard­ing pa­per­less trade, elec­tronic com­merce, and en­ter­prise pro­mo­tion un­der sus­tain­able devel­op­ment ef­forts.

Mon­go­lian del­e­gates led by Head of the For­eign Trade and Eco­nomic Co­op­er­a­tion De­part­ment of the For­eign Af­fairs Min­istry V.Enkhbold par­tic­i­pated in the ses­sion, and gave speeches about the coun­try’s current trade and in­vest­ment en­vi­ron­ment at dis­cus­sions on pro­mot­ing trade fa­cil­i­ta­tion, pa­per­less trade and elec­tronic com­merce for sus­tain­able devel­op­ment.

Dur­ing the ses­sion, V.Enkhbold talked with ESCAP of­fi­cials about col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween Mon­go­lia and ESCAP on im­prov­ing the na­tion’s ca­pac­ity in trade ne­go­ti­a­tions and de­vel­op­ing op­er­a­tions of eco­nomic free trade zones and asked for ESCAP tech­ni­cal as­sis­tance in im­prov­ing the coun­try’s tech­nol­ogy and in­no­va­tion ca­pac­ity.
