Mongolian athletes win 7 medals at Yoshida Saori Cup 2017
Young Mongolian freestyle wrestlers won seven medals at the Yoshida Saori Cup 2017 international tournament in honor of threetime Olympic champion and 13-time world champion Saori Yoshida of Japan.
The tournament took place on November 3 and 4 in Tsu, Japan, the birthplace of Yoshida.
Mongolia was represented by over 20 junior wrestlers coached by T.Sukhbaatar and S.Munkhduuldakh. They brought home a gold medal along with two silver and four bronze medals.
In the girls’ category, wrestler of Genco Club B.Maral won a gold medal, while E.Odzaya and U.Purevsuren seized silver medals. Four bronze medals were taken by D.Otgonjargal, M.Munkhgerel, M.Tumen-Ulzii and B.Khongorzul.
More than 900 wrestlers from six countries, including Mongolia, Japan, France, the USA and Norway, competed in the third Yoshida Saori Cup.
