Youth or­ga­ni­za­tions to sup­port young sci­en­tists

The Ulaan­baatar Youth De­vel­op­ment Agency promised to pay more at­ten­tion to train­ing promis­ing young re­searchers and supporting their re­search at the Khurel­to­goot 2017 aca­demic con­fer­ence.

The aca­demic con­fer­ence kicked off on Novem­ber 4 at Khurel­to­goot As­tro­nom­i­cal Ob­ser­va­tory Cen­ter with open­ing speeches by Head of the Ulaan­baatar Youth De­vel­op­ment Agency S.Sukh-Ochir, pres­i­dent of the Mon­go­lian Young Sci­en­tist’s As­so­ci­a­tion D.Bat­tog­tokh, and pres­i­dent of the As­so­ci­a­tion of Young Re­searchers in So­cial Sciences B.Purevsuren.

S.Sukh-Ochir noted that the Mon­go­lian Young Sci­en­tist’s As­so­ci­a­tion an­nu­ally or­ga­nizes the Khurel­to­goot aca­demic con­fer­ence to en­cour­age young peo­ple to start re­search works, train new sci­en­tists and re­searchers, in­tro­duce new ad­vanced tech­nolo­gies and in­no­va­tions to sci­ence, sup­port young sci­en­tists, in­tro­duce their work, and give them the op­por­tu­nity to join large re­search projects.

“I’m happy to in­form that we’re in­tro­duc­ing a new ‘Youth Study’ sec­tion to the an­nual Khurel­to­goot aca­demic con­fer­ence. This year, we’re award­ing cash prizes and rights to at­tend two IT spe­cial­ized train­ing to 14 young re­searchers who pre­sented their work at the con­fer­ence,” he said.

Mon­go­lian lan­guage and lin­guis­tics pro­fes­sor at the Na­tional Univer­sity of Mon­go­lia T.Er­deneOchir won first place with his “Method­ol­ogy for Com­par­a­tive Study on Metaphor­i­cal Lan­guage” pre­sen­ta­tion, while PhD can­di­date at the Law En­force­ment Univer­sity of Mon­go­lia B.Munkhdorj came in sec­ond place with his “Study on Us­ing Math­e­mat­i­cal and Sta­tis­ti­cal Meth­ods for De­ter­min­ing Prison Sen­tences”. T.Er­dene-Ochir and B.Munkhdorj re­spec­tively won a cash prize of four mil­lion MNT for fur­ther re­search. Mean­while, PhD can­di­date at the Mon­go­lian Univer­sity of Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy M.Bur­maa’s “Rat­ing of Smart Ci­ties” speech came in third place.

Out of 14 pre­sen­ta­tions shared at the con­fer­ence, ex­perts com­mended re­searcher N.Bat­zorig’s “The So­cial Out­comes of Mort­gages and Its Im­pact on Lenders”, and PhD B.Dul­guun’s “The Role and Im­pact of Pub­lic Trans­porta­tion to the Econ­omy” as fas­ci­nat­ing re­search work that can be im­ple­mented into ac­tual projects.
