Youth organizations to support young scientists
The Ulaanbaatar Youth Development Agency promised to pay more attention to training promising young researchers and supporting their research at the Khureltogoot 2017 academic conference.
The academic conference kicked off on November 4 at Khureltogoot Astronomical Observatory Center with opening speeches by Head of the Ulaanbaatar Youth Development Agency S.Sukh-Ochir, president of the Mongolian Young Scientist’s Association D.Battogtokh, and president of the Association of Young Researchers in Social Sciences B.Purevsuren.
S.Sukh-Ochir noted that the Mongolian Young Scientist’s Association annually organizes the Khureltogoot academic conference to encourage young people to start research works, train new scientists and researchers, introduce new advanced technologies and innovations to science, support young scientists, introduce their work, and give them the opportunity to join large research projects.
“I’m happy to inform that we’re introducing a new ‘Youth Study’ section to the annual Khureltogoot academic conference. This year, we’re awarding cash prizes and rights to attend two IT specialized training to 14 young researchers who presented their work at the conference,” he said.
Mongolian language and linguistics professor at the National University of Mongolia T.ErdeneOchir won first place with his “Methodology for Comparative Study on Metaphorical Language” presentation, while PhD candidate at the Law Enforcement University of Mongolia B.Munkhdorj came in second place with his “Study on Using Mathematical and Statistical Methods for Determining Prison Sentences”. T.Erdene-Ochir and B.Munkhdorj respectively won a cash prize of four million MNT for further research. Meanwhile, PhD candidate at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology M.Burmaa’s “Rating of Smart Cities” speech came in third place.
Out of 14 presentations shared at the conference, experts commended researcher N.Batzorig’s “The Social Outcomes of Mortgages and Its Impact on Lenders”, and PhD B.Dulguun’s “The Role and Impact of Public Transportation to the Economy” as fascinating research work that can be implemented into actual projects.
