12 students injured after truck collides with bus
The Traffic Police Department confirmed on Monday that 12 students, aged 16 and 17, were injured during collision between a public bus and a large truck on Sunday.
The bus was reportedly carrying around 40 passengers when the truck collided into it from behind. The traffic police reported that the bus driver and most passengers were unharmed by the accident and that they are unable to confirm the condition of the 12 injured teenagers yet.
“It was determined that the drivers of the bus and truck were not under the influence of alcohol. We’re trying to find the cause of the accident right now,” an officer reported on Monday.
Due to the traffic accident, Sonsgolon Bridge was closed for an undetermined period of time for road repairs. In particular, the fences on the right side of the bridge were damaged after the bus driver attempted to stop the bus from getting pushed off the bridge by the oncoming truck.
