Parliament holds third review of 2018 state budget
On Friday, Parliament reviewed the draft 2018 state budget, the 2018 budget for the Social Insurance Fund and the 2018 budget of the Health Insurance Fund for the third time and submitted them to standing committees for preparation for the final review.
During the review, several legislators emphasized that a survey on reducing government expenditures and interest payment of government bond debt should be conducted by the Ministry of Finance and Parliament’s Budget Standing Committee before finalizing the 2018 state budget.
Member of Parliament Ya.Sodbaatar noted that Parliament and Cabinet should focus on creating a salary system that rewards public employees based on their performance, experience and other essential requirements.
Parliament is expected to approve the 2018 state budget this week. The fiscal budget is to be made ready before November 15 of the previous year under Section 8.4.8 of the Law on Budget.
