The caucus of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) met on Monday at the State Palace to discuss some recent issues such as measures to combat air pollution, Erdenet Mining Corporation ownership and the government’s future plan.

All lawmakers of MPP in attendance supported Cabinet’s decision on taking back the 49 percent stake of Erdenet Mining Corporation. Some legislators proposed that the government should negotiate with the International Monetary Fund to revisit the tax increase policy before Parliament’s fall session is closed.

Some lawmakers proposed that Cabinet should work without deputy ministers to cut spending, but the majority of the meeting’s attendees did not support this proposal.
