M. Urantsetseg clinches gold at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam
The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam kicked off on October 27. On the first day of the event, M.Urantsetseg competed in the 48 kg weight category against Kosowa judoka Distria Krasniqi and became the champion in her weight class.
Honored Athlete M.Urantsetseg from Bayankhongor Province is the coach of Khuch Sports Association, and is also a police lieutenant. This is her 11th time winning an award from a Grand Slam. She competed in the A section and took the lead by defeating Belgian and Portuguese judokas. In the quarter finals, she beat Hungarian judoka Eva Chernovishk.
Additionally, honored athlete M.Urantsetseg has gold and silver medals from the World Championships and she is ranked third in the world in her respective weight division.
Some 348 judokas from 62 countries are competing in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. Mongolia is being represented by M.Urantsetseg in 48 kg, G.Odbayar in 73 kg, N.Davagsuren in 81 kg and B.Temuulen in +100 kg.
