M. Urantset­seg clinches gold at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam kicked off on Oc­to­ber 27. On the first day of the event, M.Urantset­seg com­peted in the 48 kg weight cat­e­gory against Kosowa ju­doka Dis­tria Kras­niqi and be­came the cham­pion in her weight class.

Hon­ored Ath­lete M.Urantset­seg from Bayankhon­gor Province is the coach of Khuch Sports As­so­ci­a­tion, and is also a po­lice lieu­tenant. This is her 11th time win­ning an award from a Grand Slam. She com­peted in the A sec­tion and took the lead by de­feat­ing Bel­gian and Por­tuguese ju­dokas. In the quar­ter fi­nals, she beat Hun­gar­ian ju­doka Eva Ch­er­novishk.

Ad­di­tion­ally, hon­ored ath­lete M.Urantset­seg has gold and sil­ver medals from the World Cham­pi­onships and she is ranked third in the world in her re­spec­tive weight divi­sion.

Some 348 ju­dokas from 62 coun­tries are com­pet­ing in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. Mon­go­lia is be­ing rep­re­sented by M.Urantset­seg in 48 kg, G.Od­ba­yar in 73 kg, N.Dav­agsuren in 81 kg and B.Te­muulen in +100 kg.
