Less than 10,000 cases of COVID19 were reported in the first month, and more than 4 million new cases were reported in the last month. The total number of infections is expected to reach 10 million next weeks.

In countries where the virus has been successful­ly stopped, there is a resurgence of the infection. Countries need to protect the health of their population and minimize socioecono­mic damage. The head of WHO called on government­s to find innovative solutions to protect the health of their people while maintainin­g their livelihood­s.

COVID19 makes us understand the value of investing in health systems, human resources, and the importance of solidarity and preparedne­ss.

Today, Congo announced the end of the Ebola outbreak after two years of struggle. Early detection and rapid response to the Ebola virus are also important in stopping COVID19 infection.
