Myan­mar and Is­rael’s mil­i­tary ties clar­i­fied

Deputy Min­is­ter for De­fence Com­modore Aung Thaw clar­i­fied a MoU on mil­i­tary co­op­er­a­tion in the de­fence sec­tor and an agree­ment on the pro­tec­tion of se­cret in­for­ma­tion be­tween Myan­mar and Is­rael at the Pyi­daungsu Hlut­taw on Mon­day, the Global New Light of Myan­mar re­ported on 23 Novem­ber.

The MoU cov­ers mil­i­tary train­ing, the de­vel­op­ment of de­fence and se­cu­rity poli­cies, le­gal mat­ters in the de­fence sec­tor, in­for­ma­tion shar­ing, hu­man­i­tar­ian and re­lief oper­a­tions, mil­i­tary ed­u­ca­tion in eco­nomics, science and tech­nol­ogy and mil­i­tary med­i­cal science, ac­cord­ing to the deputy min­is­ter.

In ad­di­tion, the deputy min­is­ter pointed out the ben­e­fits of sign­ing the agree­ment on the pro­tec­tion of se­cret in­for­ma­tion be­tween the two coun­tries, in­clud­ing the pro­mo­tion of de­fence and se­cu­rity co­op­er­a­tion, in­for­ma­tion shar­ing, the ac­qui­si­tion of tech­nolo­gies and the ex­change of vis­its, the re­port said.
